A vampire may be on the loose in Italy. How else would one explain the seductive demonic aura that’s exuding from many of the Italian fashion houses’ collections this season?

Take Givenchy, for example. At its AW16/17 runway collection show, models came down the catwalk with blood lust in their eyes, highlighted by red streaks of makeup only a creature of the night would wear. Added to that were full-length, sheer lingerie dresses, complemented only by a pair of panties and a lace robe with leather and fur trim. Salacious and sexy.
Balmain has been bitten, too. The sheer vamp look was in full force at its show, with black sheer robes with one-piece swimsuit silhouettes and complementary lace leggings. Kendall Jenner got in on the act, too, with bleached blonde hair in an all-silver striped outfit, held together by a bodice skirt. It’s like she walked out of a vampiric bordello.

And over at Roberto Cavalli, it’s a little different but no less primal. At their runway show, we saw a flowing hunter green lace dress matched with a leopard print scarf and brocade coat with fur trim. It’s gothic, fabulously gaudy and absolutely Cavalli.
To heat up those cold, wintery nights, dress like a predatory lady of the night.
